Our Farm Projects

These are the farms that are working with Greens Farms to help control the run off that occurs on their property. These businesses are outstanding custodians of our planet!

Dodon Farm, Davidsonville Maryland

Dodon Farm is located in Davidsonville, Maryland. It is a 550-acre farm with an operating horse boarding/training facility. Greens Farms Inc. is collaborating with Dodon Farm resident arborist and mycophile Bradley Seay to install two mycoremediation plots.

These plots will be composed of Wine Cap mushrooms, Stropharia rugosoannulata, and Oyster mushrooms, Pleurotus ostreatus.

Greens Farms Inc. is moving rapidly forward with implementing mycoremediation projects in Maryland in response to a burgeoning demand for environmental stewardship.

Horses and other livestock create a surplus of nutrients that we will mitigate in our remediation plots. Our plots will be testing the substrate application depths to refine a regionally optimal prescription for subsequent plots so that we can maximize benefit and streamline procedures.

Wine cap and Oyster mushrooms are proven environmental filters, capable of restructuring waste and capturing excess nutrients. Seasonal biological and nutrient sampling will compare efficacy of the two species, each at different concentrations of substrate.

The Greens Farms production facility is running at full production and we are excited to be fully ramped up to begin Maryland mycoremediation and finding more opportunities to clean rainwater before it makes it into our streamways of the Chesapeake Bay.
